HONORING LEE PFAB AS 2026 OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce and the Palo Alto Weekly annually present the Tall Tree
Awards to recognize individuals, nonprofits, and businesses that have made exceptional civic contributions and
demonstrated outstanding service to the Palo Alto community; and
WHEREAS, Lee Pfab has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to community service
through decades of professional service, distinguished by her dedication to nonprofit advancement, organizational
excellence, and meaningful community engagement; and
WHEREAS, through her visionary leadership at Palo Alo Community Child Care, Lee Pfab has expanded
access to high-quality early childhood education, strengthened partnership with local agencies and school districts,
and secured critical resources to support families and educators resulting in meaningful and lasting improvements
for child across the Palo Alto community; and
WHEREAS, Lee Pfab’s leadership, commitment to operational excellence, and passion for community
service demonstrated through her role as Chief Executive Officer of Palo Alto Community Child Care, her prior
leadership as Executive Director of the YMCA of Silicon Valley, and her active service as a Community Benefit
Council Member for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Board Member of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce,
Student Leadership Mentor with Youth Community Service, and member of the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs,
through these roles, Lee has made measurable and lasting contributions, earning the respect and recognition of
colleagues, partners, and the broader Palo Alto community; and
WHEREAS, Lee Pfab’s ability to inspire others, cultivate strong partnerships, and elevate community-
focused initiatives embodies the spirit of civic leadership that the Tall Tree Awards seek to honor.
NOW, THEREFORE I, Vicki Veenker, Mayor of the City of Palo Alto, do hereby recognize and
congratulate Lee Pfab as the recipient of the 2026 Tall Tree Award for Outstanding Professional, and extend my
sincere appreciation for her outstanding leadership, professional achievements, and lasting contributions to the
community.
