A!{_]:YERGENCY ORDINANCE RELATING TO TEE R,mE~ION OF
PROPER'.l:Y SOLD FOR TAXES
The Council o.f the City of Palo Alto DO ORDAIN
as follows:
Tllat the following section be added to the Palo
Alto real property tax ordinances:

r'ea.l estate has been sold to the City of' Palo Alto
on or before .June 29, 1934, for delinquent taxes,
and the city has not disposed of the same, the
person who-se estate has b~en sold, his heirs,
executors;, administrators or other successors in
:tntere.st shall,. at any time on or before the 20th
day of April, i935 have the right to redeem such
property by paying to the City Ta:x Collector of
the City of Palo Alto the amount of taxes due
thereon at the time of such sale, and also all
taxes that w·ere a lien upon said :real property at
the time said taxes became deli:n.qu.ent,, am also :9..ll
unpaid taxes of every description assessed against
the property together with all taxes that are a
lien· agai.nst the property for each year si;a.ce tb~
sale,~ a:s shown on the de!inq uent assessment roll:s
in the permanent custody of the City Auiitor, or
if not so assessed, then llpon the value of the
propertyas assessed in the year :near.est the tim~: of
such redemp-tion with interest on ·t;he whole amount
of such taxes at the rate of seveia per cent ( 7%)
per annum computed from the first day of July, 1~~33
to the t;!me of such re'\emption, except that 1n.te:r.est
upon taxes assessed or una.ssessed for the fiscal
year: .1933-34' shall be computed fr<:>m July l,, .1934
to the time of such redemption.

reiularly introduced at a reg:ular meeting of the Council
Cl .. the City of Palo Al to on .Monday, FE~bruary ll, 193!>,
and was pt:ssed·on MoDday, the 11th of ?larch, 1935, by
the ~ollowing vote on roll call:
