(1) All required emergency lighting facilities shall be automatic, not requiring any manual action to put them into operation after failure of normal lighting. ( 2) Emergency ligh tir1g facilities. shall be arranged to maintain the specified degree of illumination of at least one-half hour in the event of failure of normal lighting~ (3) Installations, operations and maintenance of circuits, systems and equipment, shall comply with the standards as set forth in Art. 32, Emergency Lighting, Division of Industrial Safety, Title 8, CAC, and the National Electri­ cal Code, NFPA #70, Standard of the NFPA for Electric Wiring and Apparatus and NFPA #101, Building Exits Code, st.3;ndard of the NF.'PA. Access --Parki~g May be Prohibited~ If in the judgment of the fire chief it is necessary to pr(;-· hibit vehicular parking along private accessways in order to keep them clear and unobstructed, he may require the owner f lessee or the person in char·ge of the premises to paint the cnrbs red or install signs or give other appropriate notice to the effect that parking is prohibited by the Fire Department. It shall thereafter be unlawful for such owner, lessee or other person in charge to fail to install and maintain in good condition the form of notice so prescribed .. When such areas are marked or signed as provided herein, no person shall park or leave standing a vehicle adjacent to any such curb marking or contrary to such sign. Water supply may con~ist of reservoirs, pressure tanks, elevator tanks, water mains, or other fixed system capable of supplying their required fire flow. Where fire hydrants are required by this code, the standard spacings listed herein shall be maintained, unless in the judgment of the Fire Chief, conditions war­ rant a reasonable deviation from these standards: -300 feet for commercial/industrial and high density residential districts; -500 feet for other districts. Plans and specifications shall be subm'tted to the Fire Department for review and approval prior to conscructiono Insp~ction of all construction required under this article shall be conducted by the Fire Prevention Bureau, with inspectior costs/permits, etc~ paid by the owner, developer or agent. All plans, speci­ fications and fees shall be submitted to the Fire Prevention Bureau for review, approval and issuance of required per­ mits before construction commences. (f) The following systems shall be under the ju~isdiction of the Fire Department and permits to install said systems m·ust be obtained from the De!pa:r.tment. (1) Fire Sprinkler Systems (2) Dry Standpipe Systems (3) Combinat.ion Systems (4) Halon/C0 2/other type systems (5) On~site Hydrant Systems (.6) Fire Alarm Systems (g) Final Inspection~ No final inspection under the building code as to all or any portion of the develop­ ment shall be deemed completed and no certificate of oc­ cupancy or temporary certificate of occupancy shall be issued unless and until the installation of the prescribed facilities and access ways have been completed and the - 8 - final inspection approval thereof of the fire chief as provided herein, and allinspection costs paid.
