ORDINANCE OF 'l'HE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 18.83.030 OF 'l'HE PAI.O ALTO MUNI
CIPAL CODE REGARDING OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIRE~ENTS
The Cou~cil of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION J.. Section 18.83.030 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"In any parking assessment district est.ablishc•d by the C1ty for
the purpose of providing off-street parking facilities, al.l or
a port \.on of the off-street. pat~king requirement for' a ww may
be !:'.atisfied by payment of assessment.s or· fees levied by :such
distr let on t.he basi:::: of parkinq spaces requi:ccx1 but not pro
vided ..
"For purposes of the comput.at.ions demanded by Section 13.16. 0 ~>0
for the assessment year 1979-80 only, the off-street parking
requirement. for uses on parcels Jocated within an assessment
district shall be based upon the parki~g provisions set forth
in the Zoning Code in full force and effect on .January 1 1 .19 7 8."
SECTION 2. The Council finds that adoption of this ordinance does
not cor18Titute' a project as defined by thE~ California Environmental
Quality .i\ct:.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effec·tive upon the commence
ment. o.r-:Ehe thirty-first day follvwinq the date of i t.s adoption.
