ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 18.08.040 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL

The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follow~:
SECTION 1. Section 18~08.040 of the Pa~~ ~1 ~0 ~ ~~cipal Cod0 1 the

SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds with respect to the subject
property t.hat::
a. 'l'he project will not. have a significant impact on the environment.
b. The app lica.tion of general or combining districts to the s.i t1::~
of the proposed development plan \,\lil.l not provide Sl)fficient
flexibility to allow the proposed development.
c. The development plan provides public benefits not otherwise
obtainable by application of general districts in that additional
housing will be provided at the site in close proximity to shopping
facilities, public services and public transportation and needed
parkin~; -.. . ..L 11 be provided a't the EmE:~rson Street parcel.
d. The uses within the proposed PC are consistent with the
Comprehensive Plan and compatible with adjoi.ning sites.
e. The change of district is required for the public interest,
convenience and general welfare.
SECTION 3. The diagrams entitled 11 Ramona Townhol.i.ses" for Paroel

plans and are incorporat~d herein by reference. Said devel.ypment plan
is appro~;ed pursuant to Section 18. 98 • .120 of the Palo Alto M'..'"'".icipal Code,
subject to the foll.owin~ COJ)d:.i.tions:
a. Use. The project consists of two {2) sites which are defined
as-follm~s:
1. 325-345 Ramona Street (Parcel A), a total of six resideptial
units together with private rear· yard~, and a common. op$r\
space area.
2. 305, 315 Emerson Street (PaJ;cel B}, pa:cking lot for P~ninsula
Newspapers, Inc.
b. Imero~nt~.
l. Ali improvements and devGloprnent shall be:e substantially
in accordance with the approyed development plans1 with all
applicable codes and ordinances~ and with the requirements
of the Director of Public WorkG/F.ngineering 1 the Director
of Utilities and the Chief of the Palo Alto Fire Department.
