ORDINANCE NO. 3147
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE 1-'ISCAL YEAR 1979-80 TO
PROVIDE FUNDS FOR AN ADULT CROSSING GtiARD PROGRAM
IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Sections 12 of Article III
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on Juoe 18, 1979,
did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1979-80; and
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Unified ~chool District has reduced busing
services as a re8ult of Proposition 13; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paln Alto wishes to provide adult crossing
guards for the safety of children attending school;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. The sum of Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred Eighty
DollarsT$17 ,680) is appropriated to the PoU.ce Department and th.-;
General Contingent Reserve is correspondingly decreased.
SECTION 2. The Council hereby finds that this program is eate
goricallyexempt .in accordance with the provisions of the California
Environmental Quality Act.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
as provided-in Section 12 of Article II I of the Charter and Sectio.n
2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
