ORDINANCE NO. 3146
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO Al~O
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR 'fifE FISCAL YEAR 1979-80
TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR ADDITIONAL STAFF IN THE
ENGINEERING DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTHENT
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 18, 1979,
did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1979-80; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to alleviate the l)acklog of Capital
Improvement Program projects and to strengthen the p:~·o.feBs:ion<tl and
management capability of the Eng:i.neering Divif.;Jon ~'taLC to i'H't'L f!.ltlHt>
needs;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as .follows:
SEC'riON 1. The sum of 'l'hirtr-seven Thotmand and S•eventy-nine
Dollars ($3t:-o79) is appropriated to ·che Engineering Di.\:ision of tlw
Department of Public Works to provide for the addition of one Prjnclpal
Engineer position and to reclassify the position of Engineer Technician
III tn Assistant Engineer and the Reserve for Capital Projects be cor
respondingly decreased.
SECTION 2. The Council finds that this ts not a projeet for pur
poses -ofthe California Environmental Quality Act and no en vi ronmen tal
assessment is necessary.
SECTION 3. This ord;.nance shall become effective irnmedj.ately as
proviaed in Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Section 2.04.
375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
