ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THECITY OF PALO ALTO
AMEh"DING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1979-80 TO
PROVIDE FUNDS FOR AN ltALTERNATIVE MODES USER INFORMA
TION PROGR.AM'1 AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE RECEIPT OF GRM"'T
FUliDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION
WHEREAS~ pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article.
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 18,
1979, did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1979-80~ and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto strongly supports energy conser
vation and desi.res to establish an "Alten1ative Modes User Informa
tion Program" for Downtown Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, the California Energy Commission has made available.
'l'wenty-four Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty Doll.a.rs ($24, 950) in matching
grant funds fot· this program;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTI~Q.l'~ l. The sum of Fifty-four Thousann Dollars ($54,000) is
appropr.:tatedto the Transport~ttion Division of the Planning and Com
munity Environment Department with a corresponding decrease in the
unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund, and that
estimated revenue be correspondingly increased to reflect rf!cei.pt
of grant funds from the California Energy Commission.
SECTION 2. An environmental assessment has he.en conducted and
the cc;uncrr finds that the proposed project will not have ll signifi
cant adverse environmental impact.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
as provided In Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Section
2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
