mmREAS J pursuant to the provisions of Se.ction 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 14,
1973, did adopt a budget for, fiscal year 1973-79; and
\iHEREAS~ the Department of Publ.ic l<Torks desires to allocate
$51? 600 from the Refuse ~·und Reserve for System Improvement to the
Short .. Term Solid Waste Reduction Program, December 1, 1978, to June
30, 1979~ of the Refuse Operating Budeet for the purpose of funding
the expanded Curbside Recycling Program;
NO\~, THEREFORE, the, Council of the Ci.ty of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
aa folloNs:
SECTION 1. That the appropriations for the Short-Term Solid
\{a.~te -~'dt:~ctfO'n Subprogram of the Refuse. Opera t:inr:; Budget of the Pub lie
Works Department is increased by Fifty-one Thousand Six: Hundred Dollars
($51,600), and the Refuse Fund Reserve for System Improvement is
correspondingly decreased.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediate.ly as
proviaen1h' Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Section
2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Hunicipal Code,
