ORDINA..\lCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3048 MODIFYING CERTAIN
PROVISIONS OF TITLE 18 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 3048, adopted March 20, 1973, is
hereby amended to modify various sections C'f Title 18 of the Palo
Alto Municipal Code adopted therPby as hereinafter set forth.
The following sections of said Title 18 are hereby amended to
read as shown in Exhibit 11 1~, 11 attached hereto and incorporated
herein by this reference:

SECTION 2. The Council hereby finds that the environmental
impact assessment prepared and adopted in connection with Ordinance
No. 3048 is sufficient and that no further environmental finding
is neci:1ssary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance sl;.all become effective upon the
commencement of the thirty-first day following the date of its
adoption.

A variance or conditional use permit granted by the Zoning Administrator shall
take effect 10 days following the mailing of the notice of the decision of the
Zoning Administrator, unless an appeal is filed as provided in Chapter 18.92.

(a) .1n any case whece the conditions of a variance or co11ditional use permit
have not been or are not being complied with, the Zoning Administrator
shall £'ive notice to the permittee of intention to revoke the variance or 0
conditlnnal use permit, and, at least 10 days following the mailing of ~wch
notice 9 shaH conduct a he.:i.ring thereon. Following such hearlng 1 and if
good causP. exists therefore, the Zoning Administrator may revoke such
variance or conditional use permit.

(d) A variance granted pursuant to this Chapter shall exist for
the life of th~ existing structure or such structure as may
b~ constru~~ed pur~uant to the variance approval unless a
different time period is specified in the issuance of the
variance. A ~ariance fr?m the parking and loading regulations
shall be val1d only during the pc~~od of continued operation
of the use and/or structure for which the v~riance was granted.
