No pex·son who owns,· conducts or operates a pet
ehop shall &ell a dangerous or wild animal~ a.s
defined in section 6.28.010 of this title, without
fir$t ascertaining the place, of residence of the
prospective purchaser of such animals. If the
prospective purchaser resides in .the city of Palo
Alto said prospective purchaser shall be advised
that he must obtain a permit pursuant to se~tion
6.28.040 of this title before he may purchase Quch
dangetous or 'Wild animal.·~

SECTION 3. The Co~cil of the City of Palo Alto herobv
findscnat the enactment of this ordinance is net a "projP,cth
withi.n the meaning of. that term as defined in Section 11.04.130
of th~ Palo Alto ~-!unicipa;. Coda and_ therefore, no ~~nviron·mt!:nta.l
assessment is necessary. . .
SECTION 4. This ordinance ~hall become effective upon the c.:mnmeneenif~nt o~ the thtrty-first day after the day of its fl passage.
