ORDINANCE NO. 2820
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING TRE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1974-75
TO APPROPRIATE $462,200.TO PARTICIPATE WlTH OTHER
AGENCIES IN THE ESTABLISI~NT OF A GEOTHERMAL
STEAM DRILLING FUND
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of S~ction 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council of the
City of Palo Alto on June 25, 1974, did adopt.a budget for the
fiscal year 1974-75; and
WHEREAS, the joint development of .geothermal power sources· will
be beneficial to the City of Palo Alto in meeting long-range elec
tric energy needs; and
WHEREAS 1 the budget for the fiscal-year 1974~75.should be_
amended to appropriate Four HundJ:ed.;Sixty:~Two~.Thousand.Two .Hundred
Dollars ($462 ,200 ) .. to participate with other ,agencies .in the· estab
lishment of a geothermal steam drilling fund;
NOW, THtREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. 'rhe 1974-75 appropriation for .the _Electric .Fund,..
Contract.Serv1ces, is increased by Four Hundxed -Sixty""=Two 'l!housand.
Two Hundred Dollars ($462, 200) , and the unappropriated balanae _of .
the Capital Improvement Fund is correspondingly decreased by a
like amount.
SECTION 2. The Council finds~ that .. this -ordinance is not .a -fdOV.":-:
ernmental act1on as defined by Section 11.04.100 of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code, and, therefore, rto environmental assessment is
necessary. .
SECTION 3. This ordinance· shall become,effective immediately
as provided in Section 12 of Article I.II of .the .charter .and ..Section
2.04.375 of the Palo Alto· Municipal Code.
