ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE DUDGE!T F~R THE FISCAL YEAR 1974-1975
TO INCREASE THE APPROPRIATION OF 'l'UE l'OLICE DEPART
MENT TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE PRE-DELINQUENT DIVERSION
PROJEC'r
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council did on June
25, 1974, adopt·a budget for the fiscal year 1974-1975; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto has authorized
the Mayor to execute an agreement with the County of Santa Clara
to participate in the Pre-Delinquent Diversion Project; and
WHEREAS, for participation in the project the City of Palo Alto
wi~l receive in 1974-1975 approximately $6,700.00, which will
represent the amounts expended by its Police Department for the
project; and
WHEREAS1 participation in the project will require expendi
tures for services and· equipment not provided for in the Police
Department appropriation; ·
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The 1974-1975 appropriation for the Police
Department is increased by $3,500.00 for Contract Services, $900.00
for Other Expense, and $300.00 for CapiLal Equ~pment.
SECTION 2. The estimated departmental revenues for the
Police Department are increased by $6,700.00.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immedi
ately as provided in Section 12 of Article Ill of the Charter
and Section 2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal c6de.
