WHEHEllS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of

Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, thC! Council
did on June June 25, 1974, adopt D budget for fiscal year 1974-75;

Police· Department will participate in a one-year grant project

NOW, THEREFORg, the Council of t:he Ci t.y of Palo Alto does
ORDl~IN as ~-:allows:
. SECTION l. The 1974-75 budget: for the Police Department,
Investiga{ive Services Subprogram, is hereby increased by $4,686
to provide for personal services ($40,502), contract services
($42,500), other expenses ($1,750}, equipment ($1,400) and
mat.er ials and suppl1es ( $7,5 70} . Est.imat~cd depart.mental revenue
from grants is increased by $89,036.
SEC~riON 2. To maintu.in cu.r:.rent: staffing leve.ls and in
recogni t.Con ·t!1a t t~t1o existing positions will be devoted to the
project, two additional police officer positions are added to
the personnel authorizo:Jd in the 19.74-75 budget.
SEC't:'ION 3. 'rhis ordinanr.?. shall become effective imr.v~di
ate1y--;-is provided in dcction 12 of Article III of the Charter and
Section 2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
