ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1973-74 TO
APPROPRIATE $44 1 000 FOR SYSTEt·i IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE
REFUSE DISPOSAL LANDFILL
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council did on
June 18, 1973, adopt a budget for fiscal year 1973-74r and
WF~REAS, certain improvements at the refuse disposal landfill
are necessary to continue effective operation of the landfill area;
and
WHEREAS, funds for these improvements were contained in the
1972-73 budget and were not expended and thus reverted to the
Capital Improvement Fund unappropriated balance; and
WHEREAS, these improvements are necessary and desirable and
should be implemented with dispatch to prevent operational inter-
ruptions.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The sum of $.44,000 be appropriated in the Refuse
Utility Flli£d for facilities improvements and that the unappropriated
balance of the Capital Improvement Fund be correspondingly decreased.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective irr~ediately
as provided in Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Section
2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
