HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2733--·-----------~------------------------------------------------------------------------------• • ORIGINAL ORDINANCE NO. 2733 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1973-74 TO MAKE AN AT>DITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO THE INSPECTIONAL SERVICES DIVISION FOR ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT AND TO MAKE A CORRESPONDING INCREASE IN DEPARTMENTAL REVENUES WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council did on June 18, 1913, adopt a budget for fiscal year 1973-74; and WHEREAS, the State of California has recently established a.n Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund to expedite removal of vehicles and eliminate hazards; and WHEREAS, there are approximately forty to fifty abandoned vehicles presently within the City limits; and WHEREAS 1 the City is eligible to qualify for reimbursement from the Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund for removal of abandoned vehicles; and WHEREAS, the Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000) required to imple­ ment this program is over and above the a.&·nount contained in the budget adopted for fiscal year 1973-74; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo _Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. The 1973-74 Contract Services appropriation for the Div~s1on of Inspectional Services is increased in the amount of Six Thousand Dollars {$6,000) and the Departme~tal Revenue Account is correspondingly increased. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately as prov1ded 1n Section 12 of Article III of the. Charter and Section 2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code. ·INTRODUCED AND PASSED; l\UOORT 13, 1973 .
