ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1973-1974
TO INCREASE THE APPROPRIATION OF THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE PRE-DELINQUENT
DIVERSION PROJJ~CT
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
IIIof the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council did en
June 18, 1973, adopt a budget for the fiscal year 1973-1974;
and
WHEREAS 1 the Council of the City of Palo Alto has author
ized the Mayor to execute an agreement with the County of Santa
Clara to participate in the Pre-Delinquent Diversion Project;
and ·
WHEP~AS, for participation in the project the City of Palo
Alto will receive i.n 1973-1973 approximately $11,900.00 which
will represent the amounts expended by its Police Department.
for the project; and
WHEREAS, participation in the project will require expendi
tures for services and equipment not provided for in the Police
Department appropriation;
NOW, THREPORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The 1973-1974 appropriation for the Police
Department ~s ~nc:ceased by $2,420 for Contract Services, $280
for Other Expense and $2,360 for Capital Equipment.
SECTION 2. The estimated departmental revenues for the
Police Department are increased by $11,900.
SECTION 3c This ordinance shall become effective immedi
ately as prov1aed in Section 12 of Article III of the Charter
and Section 2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
