HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2721• • ORIGJ~JAL ORDINANCE NO • 2-..7;_;;2;..;;.1 __ ORD:tNANCE Of' THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2709 OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO '1'0 SPECIFY A NEW EFPECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, on April 2, 1973, Ordinance No. 2709 was adopted by the Council of the Cit;.· of Palo Alto; and ~~EREAS, Ordinance No. 2709 added Ch~pter 4.15 to the Palo Alto Municipal Code, concerning the owning and managing of apartment complexes; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto is considering an amendment to Chapter 4.15 cc!lcerning the definition of an apartment complex; and WHEREAS, Ordinanc~ No. 2709 is due to become effective on July 1, 1973; and WHEREAS, it is highly likely that the question of the defini­ tion of an apartment cnmplex will not be resolved in sufficient time to allow for orderly implementation of Ordinance No. 2709 on July 1 , i 97 3; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2. of Ordinance No. 2709 hereby is amended to read as follows: 11 This ordinance shall not becc!;",d effective until sixty (60) days after ~he resolution of the question by the Council of the City of Palo Alto of whether to retain or to amend the present definition of an·apartment complex as found in Section 4.15.010{1) of chapter 4;15o In the event that the Council of the City of ,., • , ,. • • Palo Al·to determines to amend the definition, the sixty (60} days shall commence to run on the day following the adoption of the imple- menting ordinance." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon the expiration of thirty (30) days from its adoption.
