ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO AL'l'O
AMENDING SECTIONS 18.08.030 AND 18.87.020 AND
REPEALING CHAPTER 18.58 AND SEC'rIONS 18.42.040,
18.44.040, 18.46.050, 18.49.040, AND 18.79.080
OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE TO REMOVE CER'l'AIN
PROPERTY AND USES LOCATED BETWEEN BAYSHORE FREEWAY
AND FOOTHILL EXPRESSWAY FROM SITE AND DESIGN
CONTROL AND TO DELETE A ZONING CLASSIFICATION NOT
APPLIED TO ANY PROPERTY
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 18.08.030 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code
(the Zoning Map) is amended to change the classification of all
properties in the area bounded by State Route 101 (Bayshore Free-
way), the southerly city limits, Foothills Expressway as prolonged
on an imaginary line to the northerly city limits, and the northerly
city limits of the City of Palo Alto, by removing said properties
from inclusion within the Site and D~sign Control D.istrcit (Chapter
18.82 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code).
In all other respects, the zoning classification of said
properties shall remain in full force and effect as at presento
Nothing in this section shall be deemed to affect requirements for
site and design control for properties or uses which are not af-
fected by 1..he change in classification ordained herein.
SECTION 2. Section 18.87.020 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code
is amended to read:
11 18.87.020 Mechanical access parkin facilities.
No person sha operate, ocate or construct any
mechanical ?CCess parking facility within the city,
except on laud in a district in which mechanical
access parking facilities are specifically permitted
under the provisions of Title 18 of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code."
SECTION 3. Chapter 18.58 and Sections 18.42.040, 18.44c040,
18.46.050 1 18.48.040 and 18.79.080 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code
are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective upon the
expiration of thirty days from its passage.
