ORDINANCE NO. 2715
ORDINANCE OF 'I'HE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTC-'
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1972-73 TO
INCREASE THE APPROPRIATION OF THE PLANNING DEPART
MENT TO RETAIN CONSULTANTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
A COMPP~HENSIVE PLAN AND ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of
Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the City
Council did on June 26, 1~72r adopt a budget for the fiscal year
1972-73; and
WHEREAS, the development of a new comprehensive plan, in
accordance with the provisions of Title 19 of the Municipal Code,
and a new zoning ordinance will-be of substantial benefit to the
conununity; and
WHEREAS, the assistance of qualified consultants has been de
termined to be necessary to the proper development of a new
comprehensive plan and a new zoning ordinance~
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. That the amount of One Hundred and Twenty-five
Thousand Dollars ($125,000.00) be appropriated to the Planninq
Department 1972-73 budget, of which amount Eighty-five Thousand
Dollars $85,000.00) will be allocated to the comprehensive planning
program and Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) to the development
monitoring program, and ~~at the estimated transfer of 1972~73
sales tax receipts to the Capital Improvement.FUnd.be reduced by
One Hundred and Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ·r$'1"25;-ooo.oo).
