ORDINAi~CE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE llUDGET POR THE I'ISCAL YEAR 1972-1973
TO APPROPRIATE UP TO $3,000 FOR FUNDING l\ PRELI~UNAFY
FEASIBILITY STUDY OF A PLAN FOP. ~"'LID NAS'I·E DISPOSAL
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council of the City of
Palo Alto did on June 26, 1972, adoot a budget for the fiscal year
1972-197.3; and
WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments is seeking fin-
ancial support to undertake a preliminary feasibility study of a plan
for solid waste disoosal which would transfer solid waste from the San
Francisco Bay Region to the San Joaquin Delta; and
WHEREAS, participation in the amount of $3,000 in this study ~1ould
entitle Palo Alto to a seat on the Steering Committe and would allow
early access to data being prepared Hhich might have a:opli.cability in
solving some of Palo Alto•s solid waste oroblems;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. ·The amount of Three thousand dollars ($3, 000) be trans-
ferred from the unappropriated balance of the Caoital Imnrovement Fund
to Contract Services in the Refuse Fund for Palo Alto's Share in the
ABAG feasibility study for solid waste disposal.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately as
provided in Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Section 2.04.375
of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
