ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1972-73 TO
APPROPRIATE $14,304 TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THREE METER
READER POSITIONS
WHEREAS, pursuant lo the provisions of Section 12 of Article Ill of the Charter
of the City of Palo Alto, the Council of the. City of Palo Alto did on June 26, 1972,
adopt a budget for the fiscal year 1972-73; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto desires to provide funds for three
meter re.;der positions for the remainder of the 1972-73 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, these funds were not included in thl~ budget for fiscal year 1972-73
in anticipation of the implementation of an estimated meter reading program; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of funding three meter reader positions through fiscal
yt:ar 1972-73 is S i 4,304;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SEC f'~ON l. The amount of Foutteen Thousand Three Hl'ndred arid Four Dolla1s
($14,304.00) be transferred from the unappropriated balance of :he Capital Improvement
Fund to the regular saJaries object of expenditure in the City Treasurer's office budget.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately as provided in Section
12 of Articlt: ill of the Charter and Section 2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
