ORDINANCE NO. 2691
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1972-1973
AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAl, $25,000 TO BE INCLUDED
WITHIN THE APPROPRIATION OF THE STREET IMPROVEMENT
FUND (GAS TAX)
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council did on
June 26, 1972, adcpt·a budget for the fiscal year 1972-1973;
and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to submit as a TOPICS project the
installation of reflective pavement markers for bicycle route
streets; and
· WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the project is $25,000, of
which approximately 70 percent is reimbursable from TOPICS funds;
and
WHEREA.S, under the TOPICS procedur~s, the expenditure must
be initially borne by the·citybefore reimbursement may be
claimed; and

WHEREAS, the expertditures'proposed for this project.are in

excess of the amounts contained in the budget adopted for fiscal
year 1972-1973;
