ORDINANCE NO. 2689
ORDINANCE OF THE COOt~CIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET.FOR THE FISCAL-YEA~ 1972-1973 -
TO MAKE AN ADDITIONAL AP.PROPRihTION TO THE DIVISION
OF INSPECTIONAL SERVICES BUDGET FOR THE URBAN BICYCLE
ROUTE SYSTEM AND TO MAKE A CORRESPONDING INCREASE
IN DEPARTMENTAL REVENUES
-WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 12 of Article,
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council did on
June 26, 1972, adopt a budget for the fiscal year 1972-1973; and
WHEREAS,· the st.ate and federal governments have approved an
application by the City for a Fifty Thousand Dollar ($50,000) grant
to finance the evaluation of the City 1 s Urban Bicycle Route system
and to finance supplementary bicycling enforcement services; and
. WHEREAS, since federal funds for th(;'> pro;ect will be provided
on a reimbursement basis only, the City of Palo Alto must make the
·initial necessary expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) required to

implement this project is over and above the amount contained in
the budget adopted for fiscal yeai> 1972-1973;
