ORDINJlNCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO . '~

AMENDING 'f•Hf!\BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1972-1973
AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL $85,000 TO BE INCLUDED
WITHIN THE APPROPRIATION OF THE STREET IMPROVF!MENT
FUND (GAS TAX)
WHEREAS, pursuant to the prbvisions of Section 12 of Article Il:I
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the ColUlcil did on June 26,
1972,·adopt a budget for the fiscal year 1972-1973; and
WHEREAS, the council wishes 'to proceed with traffic signal
improvements at three. locations on El Camino Real· as a matter of urgency,
and to achieve the improvements on an accelerated basis has agreed to
finance the entire cost of the improvements under provisions of a fo~al
agreement with the California Division of Highways; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary estimate of the costs of these install
ations totals $85,000 whioh is over and above the amount contained in
