HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2667.. • ORDINANCE NO· 2667 ORDINANCE OP THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING SECTION 18 .08 .030 OF 'rHE PALO ALTO MUNI- CIPAL CODE TO CHANGE THE CLASSIFICATION OF A PORTION OF THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS 690 ARASTRADERO ROAD FROM R-l:B-10 TO ·p-C FOR HOUSING FOR PERSONS OF LOW TO MODERATE INCOME, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS The Council of the City of Palo Alto do"~s ORDAlN as fol- lows: SECTION 1. The public interest,. peace, health,· safety, and general welfare are satisfied and achieved by the presently existing R-l:B-10 zoning for a.portion of the property generally known as 690 Arastradero Road, shown on the attached drawing entitled i•change of Distri~t frc...m R-1 ;B-10 to P-C 11 , except that the P-C (Planned Community District) zoning makes better use of the subject property and promotes the public.-interest, health, safety and welfare. Accordingly, Section 18.08.030 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code (the Zoning Map).· is hereby amended to change the classification of the·aforesaid property from R-l:B-10 toP-C. . . . . Said ·Development Plan is approved pursuant· to Section 18.6B.070'·of the· Palo Alto Muni­ cipal code, sUbject .to the following ·c;onditions··in addition to the provisions of Section 1 -ab.ave: a. In the event housing for moderate income persons is approved by the United States Goverrunent under Section 235 of the National Housing Act or successor legislation, applicant shall cause each and every unit thereof conveyed to · quali 'f ied buyers, to b~ subject to a right of first refusal to purchase such unit to be vested in the City of Palo Alto, or any governmental or non-profit organization designated by the City of Palo Alto. The· form and content of such righ·t shall be approved by the City Attorney and Director of Planning of the City of Palo Alto. SECTION 3. T}1e Development Schedule shall be as follows: a. Start of construction shall be within one year of acceptance by the City of Palo Alto of all proposed streets as public streets. b. Completion of all construction and development shall be within one year of the start of construction. SECTION 4.
