WHEREAS, the Cquncil of the City of Palo' Alto has approved
and.adopted as its policy a map er,ititled nEXHIBIT 'A'--MASTER
PLAN--URB~ BICYCJ~E-ROUTE SYSTEM, 11 he~einaftei:'" referred to as

SECTION 2. The City Manaqer is hereby authorized, empowered,
and directed to implement the establishment of the bicycle lanes
and paths as designated on the Master Plan.
SECTION 3.-Section 10.04.040 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is amended to read as follows:
"10 .. 04.d~o Business district. The term 'business district'
means all portions of the city of Palo ~ltowhich f1re com
mercially zoned as provided· in Title ls of this code.".,

SECTION 4. Section 10.64.100 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is amended t;;o read a~ follows:

Municipal Code to read as follows:

No person shall operate a vehicle within an established · . ·

neceas·ary to park where parking is allowed, for purposes of
ingres3· or egress to .and from driveways, or for purposes ofo
intersectional · travel 4."
SECTION 10. Section 10.64.190 of the Palo_lllto Municipal
Code is amended to read as follows:
11 10.64.190. Hitching rides on vanicles. No' person ridinq
or operating any bicycle,· coaster, roller s~atee, sled,
toy vehicle, or motorcycle shall attach. the iame or him1elf
to . any_ vehicle on the roadway. n .
~TION 11. This ·ordinance shall become effective. upon
