ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO GI NAL
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1971~1972
TO MAKE AN ADDITIONAL ,APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE FOR
IMPLEMENTION OF A NEW EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION AND
POSITION CLASSIFICATION PLAN
WHERE&i; pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, .the Council by Ordin
ance No. 2608, did on JUne 21, 1971 adopt a but}get for the fiscal
year 1971~1972~ and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to make an additional app~Opriat_ion

in excess of ~the sums appropriated by sai"d budget for/::he purpose of _
_ implementation of the· employee Compensation Plan adopted by Resolutions

Position Classification Plan reflected in Resolutions No. 4475 . \
and 4496 _ __;;..;....;..__.. __ and to modify the Schedule of Authorized Personnel
in the F'ire Departm~nt to add three Fire Apparatus Operators and
eliminate three Firemen positions.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immedi~tely
as provided in Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Section
_ .2. 04. 3 7 5 of the Palo Al to Municipal Code.
