ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CI 1r'l OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 2008.100 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL
CODE TO CHANGE THE. DAY UPON WHICH CERTAIN HOLIDAYS
ARE CELEBRATED
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as fcl-
SECTION 1 •. Section 2.08~100 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
11 2. 08 .100. Holidaxs and other seecial days o (a) Regular
holidays. Tfie f.ollo\:i"i_ng days ·are Cleclared to be holidays
on which muni.:ipal bus.ine~s of . the city_ shall be suspended:
Every· Saturday and Sunday
New Yearis Day, January 1
Washington's Birthday,_the third Mr-ipday,in February
Memorial Day, the last Monday in M~y
Independenca Dayj July 4
Labor Day, the first Monday in September
Admission Day, Septeltlber 9
Columbus Day, the second Monday in October
Veterans Day, the fourth Monday in October
Thanksgiving· Day, the fourth Thursday in Nove.mber

In the event that any of the aforementioned days, except
Sunday:·,, i tselt, falls on Sunday r the following. Mpnday
shall be considered a holiday, In the event that any of
the aforementioned days, except Saturday itself, falls on
Saturdayr the preceding Friday shall be considered a
holidayo

municipal business shall hot be suspended on such day or

SECTION 2o This ordinance, shall become effective on
January 1, 1971~
