ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING CLOSING OF THE i969-1970\BUDGET
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does OROAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Controller is hereby authorized and
directed to:
(a) Close the 1969-1970 budget accounts in all funds and to
make such inter-fund transfers of monies as required by
city charter and ordinance, the foregoing transactions
to be reflected in the Annual Financial Report for
1969-1970.
(b) To establish in the reserve or liability accounts of the
various funds amounts sufficient to provide for payment
of 1969-1970 purchase orders and contracts which are
outstanding as of June 30, 1970.
(c) To redistribute between departments, appropriations for
classified salaries to cover variances which may arise

between budget estimates and actual salaries paid to
authorized personnel.
(d) To increase appropriations in the Utilities Funds in
amounts sufticient to provide .-.for the purchase of ad
d~ tional ,w~ter~ gas, electric, and refuse.collection
services,·in the event the sales of said utilities
services exceed the original estimates contained in the
1969-i97ri budget.
Ce) To carry forward and continue.in effect appropriations
in the Capital Improvemen't and Gas Tax street· Improve
ment Funds for proj~cts.which a.re n~t completed.
SECTION 2. T~is ordinance, being an appropriation for the
usttal current expenses of the City as authorized-by Palo Alto

Municipal Code Section 2.04.375(6), shall take-effect upon adoption.
