ORDINANCE NO~ 2561
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
DELETING, AMENDING AND ADDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF
THE. PAI,O ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE FIXING TERMS OF MEMBERS
'OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND PROVIDING FOR THE
ELECTION OF OFFICERS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as fol-
SECTION 1. Section 2.16.040 is hereby deleted from the
, Palo Alto Municipal Code.
SECTION.2. Section 2.20.010 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"MEMBERSHIP. There is hereby created a
planning commission composed of seven
memhers who are not councilmen, officers
or employees of the city and who shall
be appointed by the Mayor with the approval
of the cciuncil."
SECTION 1. Section 2.20.020 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
11 The term of off ice of each member shall
be fdur ~ears o~ until his s~ccessor is
appointed and shall comme1'ice on the first
day of August."
SECTION 4. Section 2.20.030 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is hereby added' and.· shall read as follows:
11 0FFICERS. ·The ·commission shall elect its
officers annually at the first meeting in
August.~· ·

SEC'l'ION 5. This ordinance shall become e'f'fective upon
the expiration of thirty days from its passage and shall apply
to terms of all incuinbents on the date of adoption.
