ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ADDING CHAPTER 18.87 TO THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL
CODE CONCERNING MECHANICAL ACCESS PARKING FACILITIES
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as fol-
lows:
SECTION l. Chapter 18.87 is hereby adde~ to the Palo
Alto Municipal Code ahd reads as follows:

MECHANICAL ACCESS PARKING FACILITIES
Sections:
18.87.010 Mechanical access parking
facility defined.
18.87.020 Mechanical access parking
facilities.

facility defined. The term 1 mec anica access
parking facility', as used in this chapter,
means any parking structure, device, or facility
in· which electrical, hydraulic or mechanical
apparatus is a necessary element of the move
ment or parking of v~hicles.
18.87.020 Mechanical access paikillt
facilities. No person shall operater ocate
.-or construct any mechanical access parking
facility within the City of Palo Alto, except
on land in a district in which mechanical
a~cess parkirig fa6ilities are specifically
permitted under the provisions of Title 18
of the Palo Alto Municipal Code and provided
further that approval has been secured in
accordance with Chapter 18.82 ("D" Site and
Design Control District Regulations) of the
Palo Alto Municipal Code."

SECTION 2 .. This ordinance shall become effective upon
the .expiration of thirty days from its passage.
