ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 18.26.030 OF THE ~ALO ALTO MUNICIPAL
CODE TO ALLOW CERTAIN ACCESSORY. CO~RCIAL SERVICE
USES IN THE R-4 DISTRICT Wl'l'H A USE PERMIT
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN ao fol-
lows:
SECTION 1. Section -!G.26.030 (Uses requiring use ·permits)
of the Palo Alto Municipal Cod~ is hereby amended to read as
follows:

"18~7;.!6.030 Uses requiring use permits. The following
uses in the R-4" district .shall r~quire use permits as
provided in Chaptel;'.' 18.t,-9.0 ~ .
(a) Water wells an;u-appurtenant facilities for the
· production, use, distribution, and/or sale of water to
conswners without the boundaries of the city. _
(b) · Hotels and motels when prope_J:"ty is contiguou::;
· to property in the C-2, cr:3, M-1 or M-2 dist::"icts.
(c) · Temporary real estate (';ff.ices,, construction

· ~d) Mortuaries, and ainbulance 'services.

(3) Such uses shall be ·adequately screened from all
adjacent property. .
(4) One off-street loading space for each such us~
and one off-street parking place for each employee shall
be provided, in addition to such parking as is required
for the development. Additional customer parking may be
required as a condition upon the use permit."
SECTaoN 2. This ordinance shall.become effective upon the
expiration of thirty days from its passage.
