ORDINANCE NO. 2547
ORDINANCE OF 'rHE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF. PALO ALTO
AMENDING SFXTION 2. 04 ! 010 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL
CODE TO CHANGE THE MEETING PLACE OP THE CITY COUNCIL
TO THE NEW CITY HALL AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
The Council of· the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council of the City of Palo Alto finds as
follows:
a. That the moving date to the new City Hall could not
be determined far enough in advance to permit the
normal time period for ordinance passage to elapse,
and early amendment of the code would have inserted
extraneous material therein and perhaps necessitated
'si.!~'sequent. amendments;
b. That the last regular meeting to take place at 1313
Newell Road will be March 16, 1970;
c. That the public should be informed as to the new
meeting place.
SECTION 2. That Section 2.04.010 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"2.04.010 Reyular meetings. The council of the city of Palo
Alto shall no d regular meetings in the council chambers of
the City Hall, 250 Hamilton Avenue, in said city or at such
other places as may be deterroined by the council, on the
first four Mondays· of each month, at seven-thirty p.m.
When the day for any regular meeting of the council falls
on a legal holiday as defined in this code, n.o meeting shall
be held on such holiday, but a regular meeting shall be held
at the same hqti.r on the next succeedihg day thereafter that
is not a holiday." · · ·
SECTION 3. Because of the facts set forth in Section 1
hereof and in order to protect the public safe,ty ,· health and

welfare, the Council does declare that this is an emergency
ordinance that shall take effect immediately upon it3 passage.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the •... · ...
Council of the City of Palo Alto on Monday, the 16th day of
March, 1970, and was passed by a four-fifths vote of all the
Councilmen present at the meeting as follows:
