SEC!lON 1. The Palo Alto Municipal Code is hereby amended

by adding du~ret,:l a new chapter to be designated Chapter 14
Park Regulations as set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto
and by reference made a part he·reof •
. SECTIOtl 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon the
expiration of thirty days from its passage.

No person shall. enter, be or remain in any pa.rk in the City
of Palo Alto unless he complies with all of the regulations
set forth in this Chapter applicable to such park and with all
rules and regulations established pursuant t:o the provisions
. of this Chapter.

No.person shall discharge or shoot any fiream, airgun,
slingshot~ or bO"w and arrow except at: range!: designated for

the performance of his duty shall remove any wood, turf, grass,
soil, rock, sand Ol:~ gravel from any park.

. No person oth~~r than a duly authorized city employee in
the performance of his duty shall~
(a) Cut, b:re.::1k, injure, deface or disturb any rock,
building.,. cage, pen, monument, sign, fence, bench,
structt:.r>E~~ apparatus. equipment or property in a
park, or any portion thereof.
(b) Mark or r.:·lace thereort or on any portion thereof,
any mark, writing or printing.
(c) Attach thereto ar~y sign, card, display or other
similar c.evice.

·No pE:rson shall light or maintain any fire in any park
unless such fire is lighted and maintained only in a stove or fire
c'ircle·, or place pxovided for that purpose.

(a) Unduly loud or unusual noise, or
{b) By t.ny tumultuous conduct, or
{c) By the use of any vulgar, profa1te or indecent
l-anguage t:herein.
SEC. 14,:!.08 SOLICI'!'ATION

No person shall solicit in any manner or for any purpose,
or sell or offex for sale ~ny goods, wares or merchandise, or
distribute or pass out any handbi.ll, advertising matter or
lit.eratu:re in any city park, except under such rules and
regulati(jT.s as o:.ay be presc'tibed by·'the-l:.:Lty · Mana~er.
SEC. 14.109 ,§,L'"PPLEMENTAL Rt:L --:.5 AN'D REGU'4\_',!10NS
The City Manager may establish such supplemental rules
and regulations as may from time to time be required or
necessary for the. proper adminis:ra.tion and regulation of
conduct in the City's parks, included but not limited to the
times during whi:ch the parks o:r any of the facilities therein
may be used. ,
SEC .. 14.110 FOSI'I~G OF RULES· VIOLATIONS

Such rules and regulations as are promulgated in acco;;:d
ance with the p:r:·ovisions of Sect~ion 14.120 shall be posted
in a conspicuou:!i_ place in e~ch park and any pers.:>n failing
to comply with such rules and regulations shall be guilty
