ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCI:. OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 2.102 l)F Tl!iE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL
CODE DEFtNtNG A QUORUM
The Council of the City ,,f Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2 .10:~ of the Palo Alto Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as ·:,oll!:.'lws:
USEC. 2.102 9,UOlU.Jr.
A majority of the C1 >'ilnc:U shall constitute a quorum
.for the transaction of b11sin~ess, but a less number o..ay
adjourn from time to tim1! St'ld may compel by a notice
the attendance of absent members refus:ing or neglecting
to attend such meetings. Di:sobedience of the notice
may be punished at the d ~SCrlet:i.on of the Council by a
fine as may be deemed pr1 >J?er. The notice may be by
any means giving actual noti•::e to appear. and may be
given by the City Clerk 1>r any person authorized by the
Council.
When there is llO qunrt:IIll, t:h•e Mayor or Vice Mayor,
or any C.ourtcilman shall .tdjo~;.trn such meeting, or if no
Councilman is present, t;te C:Lty Clerk shall adjourn the
meeting."
SECTION 2. This ordinan1:e shall become effective upo::1 the
expit'ation of thirty days fro11 th•~ date of its passage.
