ORiliNAiNCE OF THE COUNCIL OF TilE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ADDING SECTIONS 4 .. 76, 6A.l3, 7.20, 8.21, 8A .. l9, 8B.20,
8 .. 21 AND 9.21 TO ORDINANCE ~0. L324, THE ZONING
ORDINANCE, REQUIRING USABLE OPEN SPACE IN CERTAIN ZONE
DISTRICTS
The CoLmctl of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
g:CTION l. Sectior.. 4 .. 76 is added tc1 Ordinance No. 1324,
the Zoning Ordinance, tQ read as follows:
Sec. 4. 76 '1Usabl.e ~e,!L$j2&ce": Outdoor area on ground,
root., tia:LCony, Cleek or porch which is designed
and used and accessible for outdoor living,
recreation, utility space, pedestrian access,
or landscaping. Such ar.e:as:
1. shall not include off-street parking space)
or dri.v~oways;
2. ·shall not include the required front yard
nor the street sideyard of any corner lot,
except that any portion of such yard which
is located beyond the first sixteen ( ',6)
feet may be incl~ded if it meets all the
other qualifications of Usable Open Space;
3. shall have a minimum dimension of twelve
(12) feet in any direction and a minimum
area of two hundred (200) square feet,
provided:
