ALTO AMEND~G DI"ISION XIII OF :CHAPTER 19
(SECTIONS 19.131 ~MID 19.132) OF 'rHE PALO ALTO
MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING '!RUCK ROUTES
!he Cocir.tcil of i::!:e. City o.f Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SECTJ;O!Lh Div:lsion XIII of Cb.:tpter 1.9 (Sections 19.131 and
19 .. 132) of the Palo ~uto Municipal C<xie: is hereby amended in its
entirety. as set forth in EXHIBIT A atta:ched hereto and made a
pa~t hE:reof as though fully set forth: herein.

unconstitutional, such decision shall n.ot affect the vali.dit:y of

declares that it would have passed this ordinance, and each
sect;ion, .:!ubseet:ton, sentence, clause lmd phrase thereof, irres-
pecti V$: of thE! fact t'.nat .tny one or tnl)t'e sections, subsections,
senteneest ci&uses or phrases had been declared invalid or
unconstitutior.:al ~ . and if J!or any reascm this ordinance should be
declared invalid or u::lcox-u;titutional t:hen the original' ordinance
or ordinances shall be~ in full force and effect.

deterioration if delive:ry is delayed more than one (1}

not proceeding ov~1r a throhgh truck ·route to proce~d. to c.my public or•
private scale available fo1~ the puJ:-pose of weighing and determining
whether this secti~:>n has b~~E:n cO'I.Uplied with.
g . §!t~pcions
(1) The provisions 1)f this section shall not prohibit the
operation of ~any truck coming from a. t.hrough truck rc>ute
· having ingress or egr,ess by dj~rect route to and from a
restricted st:ceet whe1:1. necess~~ry for the purpose of n1aking
pickups or deliveries of goods, wares, and merchandise from
or to any building or 8tructu:::e located on the r.estri.ctecl
street or for the purt~<'se of delivering materials to be used
in the actual a.."l.d · bon9. fi.de r~~pair > alte:rati.,on, re:nodeling,
or constructic)n of any building or str<J.cture upon the
restricted stl~eet for l\rhi·ch a building permit has pl:"4:!Viously
~ been obtained ·so long as the <:,perator of such truck takes a
route as pres(~ribed i::1 subsections (d) and (1e) her,eoL
(2) Tne provisions ;,f t:his section sha11 not apply to:
(a) Pa::;senger ::>uses l.lnder the jurisdiction ,of the
Public Utilit:ie:s C01:nmission.
(b) Any vehicl;~ ow::ted or operated by the City or
by a public utili.ty or licensed contractor while
necessa1~ily in use Ln the construction, installation
. or repat'!' of an:r pu'blic utility, within the City.
(c) Arty author;~zed emergency vehicle.
