Memorandum TO: HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL FROM: CITY MANAGER DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS AGENDA DATE: June 13,2013 ID#3785 SUBJECT: At-Places Information for Council Agenda Item #1 ; (Assessment for Califpmia Avenue Area Parking Bonds -Plan G: FY 2013-2014; Adoption of a Resolution Confirming Engineer's Report and Assessment Roll, California Avenue Parking Project No. 92-13 (For Fiscal Year 2013- 2014) Attached please find an amended version of Exhibit D (California Avenue District Amendments) for Council consideration and approval. Upon responding to an assessment inquiry staff discovered an input error in the formula used to calculate and spread the annual bond levy over the assessment district parcels. The error resulted in an increase of estimated assessment to primarily one parcel while other parcels within the district generally received lower estimated assessment amounts. The corrected assessments also reflect an additional parcel (square footage) being assessed since FY 2012-2013. Development 'on a previously vacant lot has been recently completed and the commercial portion of the parcel is now reflected on the assessment rolls. The net effect of these adjustments is a decrease in estimated assessment for the parcel primarily affected by the input error and a general increaSe in estimated assessment for other parcels in the assessment district in the range of approximately $0.30 to $150 or 0.5% to 3% of the assessment amount compared to the estimated assessments.
