SUBJECT:SUPPLIES AND SERVICE CONTRACTS AWARDED BY THE
CITY MANAGER, JANUARY 2004 THROUGH MARCH 2004
This is an informational report and no Council action is required.
DISCUSSION
The City’s existing Contracting and Purchasing Ordinance authorizes the City Manager
to award contracts for the purchase of supplies (materials and equipment) in any dollar
amount and to award contracts for services up to $65,000. Quarterly reports are required
by the Ordinance for supply contracts awarded by the City Manager over $65,000, and
for service contracts awarded from $25,000 to $65,000.
The attached report transmits the information required by the City’s existing Ordinance.
The report lists service contracts from $25,000 to $65,000 (Attachment A) awarded from
January through March 2004. There were no supply contracts awarded over $65,000
during this period. For items where no bids were received, awards were made in
accordance with the existing Ordinance.
On March 16, 2004 staff presented a revised Contracting and Purchasing Ordinance to
the Finance Committee (CMR:179:04). The proposed Ordinance will go to the Council
on this evening’s agenda. Should Council approve the revised Ordinance, in the future,
reporting requirements will change slightly.
