Comments will be accepted within the Zoom meeting and in person at 8:30 am on the day of the meeting. Adjournment DRAFT City/School Liaison Committee Meeting March 21, 2024 This meeting of the City/School Liaison Committee was held in person at the City of Palo Alto and on Zoom and was accessible to the public in person, by internet, or telephone. This meeting was also conducted by teleconference at the following location: Courtyard New Orleans French Quarter 901 Iberville St, New Orleans, LA 70112 Participant: Julie Lythcott-Haims Each teleconference location is open to the public and any member of the public has an opportunity to address the committee from a teleconference location in the same manner as if that person attended the regular meeting location. The committee will control the conduct of the meeting and determine the appropriate order and time limitations on public comments from teleconference locations. Call to Order Members of the City/School Liaison Committee met virtually. Collins, Chair, called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m. Members: Board Member Todd Collins, Palo Alto Unified School District, Chair Board Member Shounak Dharap, Palo Alto Unified School District Superintendent of Schools Don Austin, Palo Alto Unified School District (absent) Carolyn Chow, Chief Business Officer, Palo Alto Unified School District Council Member Pat Burt, City of Palo Alto Council Member Julie Lythcott-Haims, City of Palo Alto City Manager Ed Shikada, City of Palo Alto Deputy City Manager Chantal Gaines, City of Palo Alto General Public Comments Ken Horowitz spoke regarding the City School Liaison Committee. Nellis Freeman spoke regarding the City School Liaison Committee. Jeff Greenfield spoke regarding the City School Liaison Committee. Approval of Minutes Approval of minutes from the February 15, 2024, meeting. MOTION 1: It was moved by Dharap, seconded by Burt, to approve the minutes as presented. The motion carried 4-0 by the following roll call votes: Collins: Aye Dharap: Aye Burt: Aye Lythcott-Haims: Aye Updates from Palo Alto Unified School District Chow and Dharap provided an update from PAUSD. Updates from the City of Palo Alto Shikada, Burt, and Lythcott-Haims provided an update from the City of Palo Alto. Joint Effort to Address Youth Mental Health The committee discussed Joint Efforts to Address Youth Mental Health. Future Business The committee discussed future business. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 9:41 a.m.
