DISCUSSION Staff has recently been advised by counsel that two Council ad hoc committees - the Stanford Liaison Committee and CAO committee - should be treated as Council standing committees. Both committees have become committees of "continuing jurisdiction," in terms of issues for which they are responsible. All future meetings will be noticed according to the requirements of the Brown Act. Both committees may meet in closed session where appropriate, as will be the case when CAO evaluations and compensation issues are agendized for discussion. Counsel has also advised that confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment to those two committees, as well as to the Council Finance, Policy and Services and City/School Liaison Committees is also required. Those appointments are: Finance Committee Kleinberg, Chair Freeman Ojakian Mossar Policy and Services Committee Kishimoto, Chair Burch Morton Cordell City/School Liaison Committee Mossar, Chair Burch CMR:XXX:XX Page 1 of 2 Stanford Liaison Committee Beecham, Chair Ojakian Kishimoto Council/CAO Committee Mossar, Chair Burch Kishimoto Ojakian RESOURCE IMPACT This recommendation has no resource impacts.
