My community activities in Florida include service on the Executive Boards of Tigertail Productions (ten
years) and the Interdisciplinary Sound Arts Workshop of the South Florida Composer’s Alliance (two
years). For eight years I was a Panelist on Miami-Dade County's Dept. of Cultural Affairs International
Cultural Exchange Grants. I've served as a State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs Panelist, twice on
Individual Artist Interdisciplinary Fellowship panels, and twice on panels for Art in Public Places
commissions. National activities include service as Pearson/Prentice Hall Academic Reviewer, 7th
Edition of Janson’s History of Art; sixteen years as a National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts
Annual Awards Preliminary Adjudicator; and as a selected participant in three National Science
Foundation Math and Art Curriculum Development Workshops--two at Franklin and Marshall
College(PA)and one at Edmonton Community College (WA). International work includes service as
publication Referee for the African Studies Review (scholarly journal of the African Studies Association),
and for NAWACS, the annual publication of the National Association of Women Academics (Nigeria).
For nine years delivered featured lectures at annual orientation for Foreign Fulbright Students
I have recently relocated from Miami Beach to Palo Alto. An activist artist, I take deep pride and
satisfaction in service. I want to dive deep into the life of my new community and seek company with
those in Palo Alto who wish to advance the arts. Where better to accomplish this than through service
on the Public Art Commission? I've not attached a resume, but if after a review of my application one is
desired, I'd be happy to supply it.
