REQUEST FOR POLICY AND SERVICES COMMITTEE REVIEW
AND RECOMMENDATIONS ON PAYMENTS TO BOARDS AND
COMMISSION MEMBERS
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Policy and Services Committee review the information provided on
payments to boards and commissions and make any recommendations it feels are appropriate to
the City Council.
BACKGROUND
At its November 8 meeting, the Policy and Services Committee reviewed information provided
by staff in follow up to its January retreat assignments. The Committee asked staff to agendize a
discussion of payments to boards and commissions at a future meeting.
DISCUSSION
-The attached table provides information on payments currently made to boards and commissions.
It should be noted that, as a result of AB 1234, payments to boards and commission members are
considered compensation as opposed to reimbursements for expenses.
