EXTENSION OF CURRENT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH
SERVICE EMPLOYEES’ INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU), LOCAL 715
This is an informational report and no Council action is required.
BACKGROUND
The City’s agreement with Service Employees’ International Union, Local 715 (SEIU) expired on
April 30, 2006. The City has been meeting and conferring with SEIU on a consistent basis since
January 6, 2006 regarding the terms and conditions of employment for this represented unit.
DISCUSSION
The City has agreed tO extend the SEIU contract until June 15th in order to continue negotiations. If
additional time is needed to complete negotiations, staff will brief council at the next closed session
and request direction.
POLICY IMPLICATIONS
This recommendation is consistent with existing City policies.
