HomeMy WebLinkAboutStaff Report 204-06City of Palo Alto City Manager’s Report TO:HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL ATTENTION:FINANCE COMMITTEE FROM:CITY MANAGER DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS DATE:APRIL 18, 2006 CMR:204:06 SUBJECT:STREET MAINTENANCE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN This is an informational report and no Council action is required. DISCUSSION Attached is the Street Maintenance Implementation Plan prepared in response to the Audit of Street Maintenance dated March, 2006. The matrix illustrates staff’s schedule for implementation of each recommendation and includes additional comments for the more complex items. In staff’s response dated March 16, 2006, there was agreement with 16 of the 21 recommendations; staff felt the remaining 5 needed further investigation and discussion. As of this date, Public Works, Utility and Administrative Services staff have been working with the City Manager and the City Auditor on these items resolving all but recommendations 8, 12 and 14. Staff will continue to work with the City Auditor on these three remaining items.
