SUBJECT:APPROVAL OF COMPENSATION PLAN AND RESOLUTION
FOR MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL PERSONNEL
RECOMMENDATION
This report recommends Council approval of the attached resolution and amendment to the
Management and Confidential compensation plan, which corrects an omission in the previously
approved compensation plan dated August 9, 1999 (CMR:340:99).
DISCUSSION
On August 9, 1999 (CMR:340:99) Council approved resolutions and a budget amendment
ordinance adopting a compensation plan for Management and Confidential personnel which
provided for a 4.0 percent control point increase to all Management and Confidential
classifications. In addition, Council approved control point adjustments to eight classifications
which were identified in Attachment A.
One classification was inadvertently omitted fxom the list of those identified for special
adjustment. A revised Attachment A, correcting the omission, is attached.
RESOURCE IMPACT
Funding for the increase has been previously approved in CMR:340:99.
POLICY IMPLICATIONS
The action recommended by this report is consistent with City Council direction.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE COMPENSATION PLANFOR MANAGEMENT AND
CONFIDENTIAL PERSONNEL AND COUNCIL APPOINTED
OFFICERS ADOPTED BY RESOLUTIONNO. 7890 TO CHANGE
THE SALARY FOR THE SUPERVISOR, RECREATION
PROGRAMS, CLASSIFICATION
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
SECTION I. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of
Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Management
Compensation Plan, adopted by Resolution No. 7890 is hereby amended
by changing the salary for the Supervisor, Recreation Programs,
classification, as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference, effective retroactive to July i,
1999.
SECTION 2. The Director of Administrative Services is
authorized to implement the amended salary as set forth in
Section i.
SECTION 3. The Council finds that this is not a project
under the California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no
environmental impact assessment is necessary.
