EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Peninsula Conservation Center Foundation conducts an annual environmental awards
program called the Business Environmental Awards. The award program was established
in 1990 to recognize Bay Area businesses’ and agencies that have made positive
contributions to preserving the environment. The Award is based on four selection
criteria: environmental leadership, significant environmental benefit, providing a model
for other entities, and demonstrated program commitment. The Regional Water Quality
Control Plant Water Pollution Prevention Program was selected as this year’s winner in
the Community Environmental Protection category.
Program staff appreciate the support of Council and the community for our award-winning
program efforts. Continued community support will improve local environmental quality,
while helping the City to comply with water quality permit requirements to prevent
pollutant discharges to local creeks and San Francisco Bay.
FISCAL IMPACT
Winning this award has no fiscal impact for the City.
