RECOMMENDATIONS This report is informational only and requires no Council action. POLICY ,IMPLICATIONS The information in this report has no policy implication. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Peninsula Conservation Center Foundation conducts an annual environmental awards program called the Business Environmental Awards. The award program was established in 1990 to recognize Bay Area businesses’ and agencies that have made positive contributions to preserving the environment. The Award is based on four selection criteria: environmental leadership, significant environmental benefit, providing a model for other entities, and demonstrated program commitment. The Regional Water Quality Control Plant Water Pollution Prevention Program was selected as this year’s winner in the Community Environmental Protection category. Program staff appreciate the support of Council and the community for our award-winning program efforts. Continued community support will improve local environmental quality, while helping the City to comply with water quality permit requirements to prevent pollutant discharges to local creeks and San Francisco Bay. FISCAL IMPACT Winning this award has no fiscal impact for the City. CMR:501:96 Page 1 of 2 ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT Winning this award does not constitute a project under the California Environmenta!
