SUBJECT:APPEAL BY THOMAS SCOT’g, CAMBRIDGE MANAGEMENT
COMPANY, OF THE DECISION ON AN ARCHITECTURAL
REVIEW BOARD (ARB)~ APPLICATION FOR THE
CREEKSIDE INN AT 3400 EL CAMINO REAL (97-ARB-60)
RECOMMENDATION

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Creekside Inn, located at the northwest comer of El Camino Real and Matadero Avenue,
proposed to replace an existing trash/recycling area near Matadero Avenue. The application

on. the appeal, the applicant submitted a new application (97-ARB-157) with the trash
enclosure located in an existing landscape area between the Fresco Restaurant and the
Driftwood Market fronting on E1 Camino Real. This application was approved by the ARB
on June 19, 1997 and by the Director on June 25, 1997. Since the design and location have
been resolved, the applicant has requested the original application be withdrawn. No further
action is necessary.

The Creeksid¢ Inn would like to withdraw our original application to the City of Palo Alto
for a garbage dumpster enclosure sited on Matadero Avenue. We were able to work out
an agreement with our neighbors who had taken issue with the original propose~t location,
and we subsequently filed a new application for an enclosure site on El Camino Real
which was acceptable to these neighbors. This second application was subsequently
approved by the Architectural Review Board.
Thank you very much. If you have any questions, please call me on my direct line at 415
