Ordering the Summary Vacation of the Public Utilities Easements located at 301 Emerson

POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
The Resolution does not represent any change to existing policies.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The owners of the properties at 301 Emerson Street and 302 Ramona Street have requested
that the City vacate the Public Utilities Easements (POE) which run along the west side of
their properties (see maps attached to Resolution). The easements were dedicated as part of
the subdivision located on the former Times Tribune property in April 1995; however, the
developer relocated the transformers and granted new easements elsewhere on the site, and
no facilities were located within the easements to be vacated. These easements have never
been utilized, and are not necessary for any present or anticipated future public use. Since
there is an exchange of easements, no fee will be assessed, as per the current Municipal Fee
Schedule.
